Gold breaks out, call buyers piling in for a run at 5k: Gold's breaking out again and call buying is surging right alongside it, about as bullish a positioning read as you get. Some are already talking $5,000 spot. Not chasing it blindly, but if you're in the miners or $GLD this is a setup to let run, not fade.

$AAOI dilution stinks but the plan is to hold through it: $AAOI ran an ATM dilution after hours Friday, not a good look, and there's chatter of more sizeable selling spread across more buyers on top of it. Probably drags it sub 100 for a bit next week. Not selling here though, the position's red and the bet is the broader market grinds higher into September and drags AAOI up with it. If this were green instead of red, it'd be getting de-risked on the news.

Citadel quietly unwound most of its AI bet: Ken Griffin says Citadel already unwound over 80% of the risk in its Situational Awareness portfolio, the AI infrastructure trade. File it under why the mega caps keep chopping instead of running.
