$OSS lands a validation win in a niche the majors won't touch: $OSS picked up a strong validation contract this morning in rugged AI, a corner too small for the big players to bother chasing. Management's been clear the plan is customers where $100M+ doesn't move the needle for giants but adds up fast for OSS. Worth a watch if wins like this keep stacking.

$KTOS still faded with the whole drone/defense group: $KTOS has taken it on the chin all through 2026 right alongside the rest of drone/defense, recent award wins or not. The group-wide fade looks like the bigger story here than any single contract, not a name to chase off headlines alone.

chart

$HOOD breakout on watch, prediction markets adding fuel: Tracking a chart breakout on $HOOD closely right now. The prediction-markets push looks like it's actually working based on the latest data, and this name tends to do its best work when it's outperforming BTC rather than riding it. If the breakout holds, that combo could keep the move going.

chart

$PENG's margin edge over SMCI, 13 logos deep already: SMCI's news gives a decent macro read-through for $PENG, which runs at a much fatter margin and is leaning into non-hyperscale demand, arguably the steadier bucket. Already landed 13 new logos this year with the real inflection not due till next year. Thesis says the best is still ahead here.

chart

$HLIT loses the 21-week ema and its uptrend: $HLIT cracked a key level last week, the 21-week ema and the uptrend that's carried this name through a great run. That's the kind of tell that matters. Watching to see if it's just a shakeout or the start of something uglier.

chart

Solar's political story doesn't match the deployment data: There's a real gap between how solar policy feels and what deployment data actually shows, and $SHLS's chart is behaving differently than the rest of the solar group because of it. If that disconnect closes it could be the setup that plays out in SHLS's favor. Still early, just a read to keep on the radar.

chart

$HIMX, a cheap way to play CPO: $HIMX is getting flagged as one of the cheapest ways to get exposure to co-packaged optics, an angle Citrini was early on. Not a name we've covered here yet, but worth a look if the CPO theme keeps running.

chart

$VICR popped on earnings, then faded hard intraday: $VICR was up nicely premarket on a solid print, then gave it all back and faded aggressively during the session. Good numbers didn't matter once the tape turned, a reminder a green premarket doesn't guarantee a green close. Watching how it holds up from here before reading too much into the fade.

chart

Green across the board, hedges the only laggard: Strong session, pretty much every holding outside the hedges finished green. Nice day, but one green tape doesn't change the plan, we keep the hedge on and keep rolling.

AMD/Anthropic mega deal, stock sells the news: $AMD and Anthropic just signed a deal for tens of billions in AI server buildout, about as bullish a headline as you get, and $AMD still dropped on it. That's the tape we're in, good news gets sold first and asked questions later. Not exactly the setup for chasing strength here.

chart

GEV's data center orders more than double 2025's total: $GEV sold off on earnings but the guts of the print lean bullish for the grid trade: 2026 guidance got raised, and electrification orders from data centers are past $5B year to date, more than double all of 2025 combined. If the market ever catches up to that read, the post-earnings dip could end up being the entry, not the warning sign.

chart

NVDA rack commentary is a tailwind for DELL: NVDA's VP of hardware dropped a quote that's a direct tailwind for whoever's building NVDA's racks, and $DELL fits that seat: it builds the PowerEdge XE9812 Vera Rubin NVL72 system and was first to market with it. Worth keeping on the radar as a picks-and-shovels play on the Rubin ramp, not a trigger yet.

chart

SPX quant levels July 22: support 7420-7433, resistance 7535-7553: Today's $SPX levels: resistance stacks at 7535-7553, support sits at 7500 and 7470, with 7420-7433 as the next shelf down and 7402 marked as the key support below that. Hold the shelf and bulls get another look at resistance, lose 7402 and there's not much marked underneath.

Watch MTUM alongside SMH for the momentum tell: Along with tracking $SMH structure, keep an eye on $MTUM too, it tracks the high-quality momentum names and gives a second read on whether momentum's actually turning or just chopping around. Two data points beat one when we're trying to time re-exposure.

OpenAI bumps capex to $750B, AI trade catches a bid over rotation: OpenAI raised its capex guide from $600B to $750B, one more confirmation stacked on top of the TSM and hyperscaler capex story. AI trade's getting the positive flow today while the rotation trade fades, which is the read we want to see hold. Best specific read-through here is $ORCL, with more capex confirmation expected again tonight.

Software lags while SMH bids, NVDA up 2.5% into hyperscaler earnings: $NVDA up 2.5% while software names get left behind is the kind of rotation we want to see, an implicit vote that the market still believes the AI capex thesis. If $SMH keeps bidding here it could run right into $GOOGL's print. Watching to see if that rotation gets more exaggerated into earnings, not chasing it either way.

$NBIS building on yesterday's bounce: $NBIS is up disproportionately today on what's being read as a bullish catalyst, building on yesterday's strength. Chart structure's starting to repair too, which is a decent tell for broader AI sentiment if it holds. Nothing to chase off this alone, just a name worth keeping on the radar.

GDPNow bounces to 1.7%, still nothing to write home about: Atlanta Fed's GDPNow tracker dipped as low as 1.1% recently and just crawled back to 1.7%. Not a growth signal to build a thesis on either way, but it's another data point saying the economy's coasting, not accelerating. Filing it under background noise for now, not a trade.

Tape's parked waiting on GOOGL, capex raise is the read-through trade: Volume's been notably light again today, market's basically sitting on its hands into GOOGL's print after the bell. The working theory: GOOGL's flagged supply constraints in past reports, and $TSM wafer output keeps growing month over month, so a fresh capex raise looks like the more likely outcome tonight. If that's the number, $AVGO, $MRVL, $LITE, $TSM and the memory names are where the read-through money probably goes first. Just a guess connecting dots here, nothing to act on till the print's actually out.
