Korea's throwing a $14B backstop at AI infrastructure: South Korea's kicking roughly $14B into its sovereign wealth fund earmarked for AI data centers and infrastructure, basically a government backstop under a market that's been in freefall. Doesn't fix the structural overhang overnight, but it's a floor bid that could matter if the bounce needs help holding. Watching to see if it actually shows up in price action, not just headlines.

Market shrugs off TSLA's China weakness: Something soft dropped on $TSLA today, but the read is the market won't care much since the China business was already weak going in. Nothing new breaking here, just confirmation of a soft spot that's been priced in for a while.

Momentum names, is the unwind finally turning?: $FPS keeps fading hard along with the rest of the momentum complex, mostly just catching the broader momentum unwind rather than anything FPS-specific. Question on the table now is whether momentum's actually at a turning point here. Nothing confirmed, worth watching the high-beta momentum names for the first signs of a bounce.

$PLPC prints a 29% earnings move, thesis intact: $PLPC earnings were extremely strong and validate the thesis, stock warranted its roughly 29% move regardless of the broader market tailwind. Profits have been getting given back fast in this market though, so deliberating trimming here rather than assuming it holds.

chart

$HOOD earnings good, guide cut is the catch: $HOOD earnings were actually pretty solid, revenue hit a record $1.31B, but the FY2026 guide got cut and that's the part the market will fixate on. Good quarter, messier outlook, worth watching how it settles rather than reacting to the headline beat alone.

Kioxia and Goldman/UBS both stack more confirmation on the memory bull case: Kioxia's earnings call flagged agentic AI as a fresh growth driver for NAND demand, spilling into even traditional server demand, a bullish read specifically for $SNDK and memory broadly. Goldman and UBS came in bullish on the sector too, UBS pegging DRAM consumption growth jumping to 36% YoY in 2027E from 22% in 2026E, and both pushing oversupply fears out to 2028ish. Thesis keeps stacking confirmations rather than cracking.

$ADEA hybrid bonding thesis intact, timeline pushed out: Goldman's memory report touched on hybrid bonding and wasn't bullish on the timing, flagging it'll 'take considerable time.' Still holding $ADEA here, this was always a patient-money story, but the read now is the payoff sits further out than hoped.

$MPWR earns the pop, comparison to $VICR in focus: $MPWR's earnings were legit solid and it deserves the move, especially with AI names broadly bouncing back right now. The read was also using that print to size up $VICR by comparison, worth a look if you're holding either into their next report.

$AMKR still the pick on valuation, even with a so-so print: $AMKR still gets the nod here despite earnings that could've been better, cheap at 19x '27 earnings and that's before the Arizona site's even online. TSM's MOU was signed late '24 with CHIPS Act money already secured for that site, and the read is it catches a bid whenever $SMH rallies broadly. Worth noting this cuts against the more bearish technical call floating around on the name too.

SPX levels for today: 7500-7510 resistance, 7387-7400 support: Quant levels for today put resistance at 7500-7510, with a bigger zone above at 7538-7553 if that clears. Support's down at 7387-7400, with the 21d ema at 7455 and the 9/50d emas at 7420-7434 sitting in between as the checkpoints on the way down. Rally's had legs lately, so the tell here is whether we hold above that 7455 ema or slip back toward support.

$SPX bounces off 7400, still balanced into the weekend: $SPX opened weak but found a clean bounce off 7400, with 7460 the resistance to clear. It did slip below 740 support briefly before buyers stepped back in and covered around 7380, so the level's still in play, not broken. Nothing decided yet, watching how it closes and whether any weekend headlines move it.

RSP lagging while SPX pushes for a breakout: $SPX is grinding for a breakout today but $RSP, the equal-weight read, was red yesterday and red again today. That's breadth cracking under the hood even while the index chases green, and anecdotally a lot of individual names are trading soft. Not a reason to panic on a rally that's otherwise holding its gains, but the next couple sessions matter for whether that divergence closes or widens.
