Two Sentence Traders

WSB Radar - July 22, 2026

1. 3.4% of Korea's entire adult population reportedly got margin called last week, that's about 1 in 10 trading accounts, in a market that's basically two stocks, Samsung and SK Hynix. Black Tuesday knocked it down 10% in a single session and dragged other Asian markets with it, and the trigger was just chatter that AI capex might slow, nothing concrete. WSB's treating it as a preview of what over-leveraged retail looks like when the music stops. Not our market, but if AI capex fear starts bleeding into US chip names, this is the story getting passed around as the warning shot.

2. $SMCI is drawing full-port energy again, one YOLO is 4,200 shares with a sell limit at 124 citing tripled backlog revenue and heavy short interest, another is a $360k leap position riding 2027 calls. Layer in the ADATA chairman saying the DRAM shortage runs another decade and bubble talk can wait till 2040, and you've got real conviction on the bullish side of the chip trade even while Korea's crash rattles that same AI capex thesis a few threads over. Two very different crowds reading the same catalyst. Worth watching whether the SMCI momentum holds or gets swept up in broader semis nerves.

3. $BMNR is up nearly 4% today to $17.93 and getting the moon treatment on a Tom Lee buyback headline and an eth-at-ath thesis, with one YOLO calling $50 the floor. Meanwhile the sub's running its favorite bit again, one trader put the kids' college fund on $SNDK and ate a loss, another did the same on $MU and came out green. Same joke, same energy, high conviction, zero backup plan. Read it as a mood indicator more than a signal, risk appetite out there is loose.
